Stupid lights…

This whole putting up Christmas lights thing is a bit overrated. I mean, come on people, no two lights strings are the same! Is it just me or does every one find frustration with needing more, going to get some, THINKING they are the same, but no….. One half of my roof has white icicle lights. The other half has white icicle lights that TWINKLE. You think this is minor, until the sun goes down and on goes your Christmas faux pas for the entire block to see! (It’s a good thing my duplex is in the back, only the street running perpendicular to ours can see us!) To add to my frustration, I can’t seem to plan where to put the plug thingys. I got plain colored lights for the lining of the fenced in area of the yard, but they will not plug into each other! Why in God’s great name would manufacturer’s make it so that two colored light strands DO NOT GO TOGETHER??? The concept is lost on me.
Alas, my lights are not done, after several attempts at finishing them in the last week. How people put up more than one or two strands, like I am, is beyond me. What a mess! When I get this stuff finished, it will be time to take them down!
